I have 30 years experience working as a chief officer in the public sector (local government and health) and over 10 years as a business consultant in the public and voluntary sector. I am also Regional Director for the international charity NCBI. I am a professional mentor/coach and trainer/facilitator supporting people and organisations in the public, voluntary and education sectors to succeed. My clients include chief executives, teachers, parents and young people in schools and the community. In addition to mentoring hundreds of people, I have trained/worked with over 8,000 adults and about 4,000 young people. My skills include a high level of mediation, investigation and audit experience, working with just one person, two people or whole groups towards effective, sustainable change. A key aspect of my work is helping polarised people to understand conflicts, reflect on desirable outcomes and then to implement agreed outcomes. I have extensive leadership and organisation change experience including national reviews with Department for Education and the judiciary.

I specialise in the field of personal disputes with high emotional content, particularly in the workplace, where conflict is affecting work output and the wider team, as well as the individuals’ own health and well being. I have been working as an accredited mediator and trainer for 20 years in a variety of fields: workplace, community (neighbour disputes and homelessness prevention), NHS complaints, and disability discrimination. My approach is based on the belief that the people in conflict are best placed to find their own solutions.
